Looks like Revisioner never did find a solution.
Same situation here. My Tracfone can no longer access the cell network in places where it used to connect with no problem. I get that annoying You are Roaming! To purchase a PIN blah blah. Is Verizon deliberately degrading Tracfone now that it owns it? Has Verizon degraded 4G/LTE service from its towers after installing 5G?
I am in a very weak cell signal area at my rural home. I spent hundreds of bucks and hours of time buying and setting up a good quality cell booster from WeBoost, and even added an outside high-gain directional antenna that is pointed to the nearest Verizon tower. But my phone has to be within 6 ft, of the booster's inside antenna to get a usable signal from it. If I'm at the other end of my living room the phone wants to connect to a U.S. Cellular 3G tower, and then I get the You Are Roaming thing. Very frustrating. And I just paid for a 1 year service extension on Tracfone. I've used Tracfone for over 10 years but now it seems it no longer works like it did.
My phone no longer works in two towns where it did work up to a few months ago, and both places have good Verizon signals. What gives?
