Service Protection Plan

Postby dogmommy » Fri Jun 15, 2018 2:32 pm

I need to go back on the Service Protection plan, but I can't find it anywhere on the website! Does this plan still exist? I don't need more minutes, just more days. Thanks!

I think you need to chat with Customer Service to enroll in that. :geek:
There is also a one time $49 plan for 365 days that you can purchase.
Add a time card and it will show up as an add-on option at checkout.

Thanks, LindaCHU! I'm down to five days, so I guess I'd better get moving! Appreciate the help. :)

OK, I tried calling customer service and this guy tells me there is NO service protection plan any more, and that I have to buy more minutes to get more days. I said, are you sure they don't offer that plan anymore, because that would just be dumb. So then he told me to go to Wal-Mart, maybe they have something like that. WTF? I have 600 freaking minutes on a phone that I rarely use. I'm not buying any more minutes and I'm not driving to Wal-Mart to see if "maybe they have something like that". I'm done. I've been hanging on to this ghetto phone in case of emergencies. But the customer service has been getting worse and worse, and I'm just done.

Not to beat a dead horse again, but I really thing Tracfone should make ALL of its plans (including the Service Protection Plan and Family Plans) available on the website, and let us sign up for them and check our status on the website as well. Years ago, such plans actually WERE openly posted on the website, but then Tracfone decided to remove them from view, even though they were technically still available.

Hiding these plans behind a telephone-support-only wall is rather deceitful, and low-volume users like myself shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to find out that they even exist, much less sign up for them. There will always be those of us for whom even the lowest-cost "monthly plans" exceed our personal needs for minutes and data, yet we'd still like mobile phone service.

Tracfone, please, I urge you to make these plans available on your website again.

Totally agree - you used to be able to just sign up for all the plans online. I'm not sure why you now have to talk to someone in Customer Service. The less CS interaction the better. :!:

Anyway, I posted a query on Tracfone's Facebook page and the plan does exist. :ugeek:

To Tracfone Wireless
I've been getting conflicting answers. Once and for all, does Tracfone offer a monthly service protection plan? This is where you can buy service days only on a monthly basis. Yes or No???

From Tracfone Wireless
Affirmative, You will be able to enroll your service in one of our TracFone Protection Value Plan, where you can receive 30 extra service days every 30 days. In order to get more details, about our Value Plans, please contact us via chat at or by calling 1-800-867-7183. For your convenience, our representatives are available Monday-Sunday from 8:00 AM to 11:45 PM EST. You can also use our self-service menu by simply texting the word HELP to 611611. ^Angel

I had to edit it since i was getting errors on submitting.
