MIGRATION TO VERIZON 5g

MIGRATION TO VERIZON 5g

Postby Buzzardsroost » Fri Jul 29, 2022 4:14 pm

My Tracfone uses Verizon Wireless towers. I have confirmed this by sending texts to my number ##########@vtext.com.
Verizon is upgrading their Network to 5G by year end. I have an old APPLE iPhone SE model A1662.

My question to some knowledgeable techie is: Will my phone still work on the new 5g system? Can I call? Can I Text? Can I access the internet?

Thank you SMART responders!

For what it's worth, the 4G LTE network is not going anywhere. 4G phones will continue to work for the foreseeable future, without any updates needed.

5G just gives faster data speeds and lower latency, and would require a new phone for you, but you don't need it if you are happy with your 4G LTE service.
