Reuse an previous TracFone with a different number?

I have a daughter who used a Galaxy J7 Crown, and she got a newer phone so the old one was inactivated. I got a newer phone and number and I am not happy with the phone, so I want to return it to the vendor and port my number to this older Galaxy my daughter vacated. I went through the transfer steps on the TracFone site and it says it was successful, may take a couple of hours or more to transfer.

Currently has been 4 hours and I am wondering if the SIM card is a problem. It is the one that came with the Galaxy J7 Crown and that my daughter used. Does that need to be replaced in order for this to work?
