Tracfone can not activate

After going on tracfone site and seeing the ZTE they offer in my area, I purchased a Quartz at Walmart. I tried to get it activated today and service is not available in my area. I have lost the phone number I had with my old tracfone and 1000 minutes. I have talked with Customer Service for over and hour and nothing...Am I stuck with a $149. tracfone I can not use ..plus my old one was deactived to change numbers and lost 1000 minutes. Where do I go for help since Tracfone doesn't seem to care. I have been a customer for approx. 10 years..if this is the service now, I will be looking for a different phone carrier. My second question is...why advertise a phone to my zip code is you can not support it.
