No SIM card - No service

I have a LG REBEL 4 LTE (LML212VL). Suddenly, it is showing the notification "No SIM card - No service" and I am unable to use the phone for calling or text messages. I *can* use it to access the Internet via WIFI. I have not recently opened the phone nor take any actions related to the SIM card, so this was completely unexpected.

What can I do to fix this problem?

After following Jude's advice and contacting Tracfone Customer Service via chat, I was able to fix my problem by opening the back of my LG REBEL 4 LTE (LML212VL), removing the SIM card and re-inserting the SIM card. The phone works fine now. I just wish I understood why this was necessary in the first place.
