Is my phone unlocked??

Postby jensir » Thu Oct 12, 2017 12:28 pm

I have a Samsung S6 active (AT&T). I have it currently activated on Tracfone. I am traveling overseas so I need to know if it is unlocked so I can put in a sim card for service out of the country. (Since that is impossible with tracfone.) Can I assume it is an unlocked phone???

Hi jensir. No, the phone is not unlocked. You can obtain more information on Unlocking Policy by following the link, https://www.tfwunlockpolicy.com or by contact our Unlocking Department at 1-888-442-5102. They are open Monday through Sunday from 8:00 AM to 11:45 PM EST.

For iOS phone, simply navigate your phone’s settings and look for Cellular Data Network.
If it’s present, then your phone may be unlocked given that this section allows users to manually change their phone’s carrier.

For Android phone, proceed to your phone’s settings and look for the Network Operator option. Scan for networks and select one to try if it works. If it does, your phone may be unlocked.

In general, people try to swap out their SIM cards with a different carrier’s SIM and tries to make a call if it works.
Another alternative way to check your phone’s lock status is through your IMEI number and enter this on an IMEI checker website.
