My phone suddenly could not make/receive phone calls a week ago. Texting was fine though. I chatted with many tracfone agents online and talked to many "supervisors" over a landline for many hours. Finally someone said that I had a defective SIM. He said that Tracfone will send a replacement SIM.
So, the new SIM arrived. Some agent activated that and assured me that my phone should work. Of course, it didn't. It even said that there was no SIM. Even worse, I could not send or receive texts. So, I was transferred to another agent and , in order to authenticate me, he texted me a security code. What the ????? My phone is a paper weight at the moment. After getting transferred to three or four agents, finally someone said that I need a new phone.
So, I went to Tracfone website and tried to buy a phone. Nope, when I checked out the website would send a security code to my not-working phone. What the xxxxx again? I couldn't even buy a phone from Tracfone even if I wanted to pay for it.
Then I called customer service and a sales agent said that he could help. So, after getting through all the steps he then said that he just texted me a security code. I told him it was not helpful because my phone was not working at all. The agent then emailed me the code. I didn't get it, not until an HOUR later (after I finished talking with the agent). But he said that since I had gone through a lot, he would make the order for me anyway. So, I was surprised. I was told that I would receive an email confirmation and he even gave me an order number.
You can guess what has happened with the order. The confirmation never came, and so I chatted with two online agents. They could not locate my order.
Tracfone, I have been with you for more than 10 years. This is the time I said goodbye for good. I will use other carrier and get a new number. I don't even want to port my old number--I don't want to deal with you anymore because under your new porting policy you will text me a porting PIN to my not-working phone!!!!
