Inactive Status, SIM is Unregistered, How Can I reactivate

Have a Tracfone that has been currently inactive for quite sometime. I tried to add some minutes but received an error message stating my SIM card is Unregistered. How can I go about reactivating my phone and either purchase a plan or add minutes. I don't mind if I my old number is not available anymore and I have to get another number. Can anyone please help me with issue. Thanks in advance
