Invalid sim card message

My wife and I have the same Samsung phones that we bought and activated Feb.20-22 of this year. They have worked fine until last night when both phones displayed "Invalid SIM card. Network locked SIM card inserted". I called and talked to Tracfone support last night and they said the only fix is to get a new SIM card. I tried taking the card and battery out numerous times to fix problem to no avail. They said they would send one out a new SIM card for each phone asap.
My question is -- why would both SIM cards fail at the same time and is there another way to reactivate the current cards without waiting multiple days for the new cards to arrive which I am beginning to wonder if that will solve the problem.
It just does not make sense to me both cards failing within minutes of each other.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

same thing happened to me - why i wonder its so random - do we need to recall this phone? did the new card fix the problem

Yes, the same message happened to me when I tried to reactivate my TracFone.

The SIM card with the information you provided currently has an invalid status.

OK, I checked the response in my Inbox. It was a link to a FAQ that didn't help. In fact, it sent me to a link that I was already using to try activating my phone, which failed. Here are the steps:

1. Went to Activation Page on this website

2. Entered the IMEI number. It worked.

3. Asked for my phone number. I got the error message: The SIM card with the information you provided currently has an invalid status.


This is an out-of-the-box TracFone. It was in use earlier. Now I'm just trying to reactivate. Please help.

Same problem. I have a Tracfone phone samsung model sch-s738c(GP). When I try to activate it on the website and it asks for my serial, IMEI, or MEID number, I get a message saying: The device with the information you provided currently has an invalid status.
